The success of a product cannot be separated from excellent usability design. Usability evaluation and improvement is the cornerstone of product user experience. Many teams are faced with the question: How can product availability be evaluated comprehensively, efficiently, and cost-effectively? User-facing usability testing is difficult, time-consuming, and economically costly to recruit users. The traditional heuristic assessment and experiential walkthrough seem to be a little general and lack of pertinence. Is there a usability diagnostic method that is cost-effective and suitable for the product's own business and user characteristics?
In this workshop, I will introduce how to customize a more targeted product usability evaluation scheme based on product characteristics, user pain points, and current business needs. This approach extends from the traditional heuristic evaluation to complete systematic and efficient usability walkthrough by utilizing the team's own power without recruiting users. The evaluation law is not limited to the Nielsen Ten Laws, but conveys a methodology: how to tailor more specific and targeted evaluation laws, and translate them into specific and actionable rules, standardize the evaluation process, and improve the quality and efficiency of usability evaluation.
The workshop will also share a practical example of using this approach: a customized usability assessment for a SaaS product. I will use vivid visual expression to introduce the process, methods, results and gains of the project to the audience, so as to help the audience better understand the study.
Finally, the workshop will provide practical interaction sessions in small groups to help the audience better understand how to use new methods to tailor suitable and efficient usability assessment solutions for their products.
