From keyboard to mouse, from computer to mobile phone, every interaction design revolution comes from the hardware revolution. In 2018, Magic Leap One was released. In early 2019, Microsoft Hololens 2 was released. Google, Facebook, and Apple will all release AR glasses products in the near future. 2019 is considered to be the first year of the AR era. AR Glass, a new information-bearing medium, will completely overturn the traditional fixed rectangular screen display device. The information in the two-dimensional limited space is fully expanded into the real world of three-dimensional space. AR glasses not only have the characteristics of “UI” caused by “eyes”, but also “see what you see”. The characteristics of near-field speech interaction will be the ultimate medium for human-computer interaction. How to design a UI for such a device with a multi-dimensional interaction dimension is an issue that needs to be solved and defined in the industry.
The technology industry giants have fully bet on AR, believing it will replace mobile phones and computers, the next generation of personal computing centers. Interaction design standards and specifications will usher in a major round of change.
Through the speech, combined with the Rokid AR Glass, we shared a wealth of research and practical experience in AR Glass's hardware design, interaction design, and UI design.
