Design Sprint is a very popular design method at Silicon Valley. It is a framework created by Google Venture's Jake Knapp, to lead a team to solve and validate design innovations in a short period time(5 days). Design Sprint can be used at solving product design questions as well as large problem like social issues. This framework helped drive many successful products like Uber, Nest Lab, Medium, Gmail, Chrome, and is widely used inside Google. Jake also wrote a book called Design Sprint.
The goal of this workshop is to teach the basic idea and framework of Design Sprint, by participating in hands-on activities of Design Sprint and Design Thinking, as well as tips of how to host successful design sprints from the speaker. There are mainly 3 parts of the workshop: 1) Understand & Define 2) Sketch & Decide 3) Prototype & Validate. Participants will be break into small groups and experience one or two activities in each part.
By participating in this workshop, participants will learn about the latest design methods, the framework of Design Sprint, and the method to lead a team to solve impactful problems in 5 days, and connect with other participants.
