Content Introduction

When mentioning digital visualization, you may first think of BI software, or data dashboards - tools for companies or government departments to analyze data and explore hidden information. In the age of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence, where "data" is everywhere, data visualization has become a part of our daily lives. It helps us plan our workout routines, get a better understanding of our sleep and diet. Or, it gives us a different perspective on ourselves and the world. Data visualization can not only become the core value of a product but also create emotional connections with users.

Once having some ideas about the content and themes you want to present, and you have figured out the data sources, how would you build a data product? This workshop will focus on skills for data visualization construction. Specifically, it will introduce a design decision model and will cover data types, visual encoding, key interactive patterns, etc. Then, the main types of data visualization will be explained by introducing creative data visualization applications. Finally, through a co-creation workshop, you will experience the process of turning an abstract idea into an interactive data visualization system step by step.
